13 Day Omo Valley Tribal & Cultural Tour<\/strong><\/h2>

Participate in the culture and understand the rich history of Ethiopia by visiting these fantastic places: Arbaminch, Dorze village, Lake Chamo, Turmi,Konso, Jinka, Mursi, Yabello, Yirgalem, Bale Mountains National Park, and Awassa. Walk through the villages of the Hamar people who enjoy body decoration and wear quantities of colorful beads and clay hair buns with Ostrich feathers. Just spend a pleasant afternoon with friendly Hamar people. In Dubluk see and hear the singing well typical of Borena tribes. The men sing to their cattle while they bring up buckets of water for their cattle from 20 M deep wells.<\/p>\n

Day 1 <\/h3>

Arrival at Addis Ababa and Sight seeing<\/p>

Arrival at Addis Ababa and meet Sahlie your Discover Simien Tour representative. Then transfer your hotel. Depending on your arrival time some sightseeing in Addis Ababa.<\/p>\n

Day 2 <\/h3>

Drive Arba Minch

In the morning en route to Arba Minch; you will visit a series of the Rift Valley lakes that are teeming with different bird species.<\/p>\n

Day 3 <\/h3>

Boat trip on Lake Chamo and Excursion to Dorze Village<\/strong><\/p>

Morning, after breakfast take a boat trip on Lake Chamo to see the largest crocodiles in Africa which measure up to 7 meters. In the afternoon visit Chencha village to meet the Dorze people.<\/p>\n

Day 4 <\/h3>

Drive to Turmi via Konso<\/p>

After breakfast, drive to Turmi, en-route visiting Tsemay and Benna tribes. Then walk to the villages of the Hamar people who enjoy body decoration and wear quantities of colorful beads and clay hair buns with Ostrich feathers. Just spending a pleasant afternoon with friendly Hamar people.<\/p>\n

Day 5 <\/h3>

Excursion to Omorate<\/p>

Excursion to Omorate to visit the Dasenach tribes, cross the Omo river by wooden local boat then come back to Turmi in the afternoon to visit the nearby Hamar tribe village. It is\u00a0 possible to see special occasion ceremonies for example:\u00a0 wedding or ritual.<\/p>\n

Day 6 <\/h3>

Drive to Jinka<\/p>

Early morning excursion to Karo village to visit the Karo tribes with their interesting body decorations and scarification. Then drive to Jinka.<\/p>\n

Day 7 <\/h3>

Excursion to Mursi

In the morning after breakfast, you will be driven to Mursi (55 Km from Jinka) and visit the village of Mursi tribe known for their attractive culture, women wearing large clay plates into their lower lips.<\/p>\n

Day 8 <\/h3>

Drive to Yabello via Konso Village

After breakfast, we drive to Yabello en route visit the Konso tribes village. The king of the village is very interesting.<\/p>\n

Day 9 <\/h3>

\u00a0Excursion to Elsod crator salt Lakes & drive to Yirgalem

Early morning excursion to Elosd, the crater salt lake to see the Borena people extracting mud salt for their livestock food. On the way back, we stop at Dubluk to see the singing well typical of Borena tribes. The men sing to their cattle while they bring up buckets of\u00a0 water for their cattle from 20 M deep wells. Then we drive to Yirgalem.<\/p>\n

Day 10 <\/h3>

Drive to Bale Mountains National Park

After breakfast, we drive to Bale mountains National Park. Visit the many\u00a0 endemic species like the Blue-winged goose, the Spot-breasted lapwing, Abyssinian long claw, Wattled Ibis, Black-headed siskin, Rouget\u2019 s rail, Banded barbet and many other species, as well.<\/p>\n

Day 11 <\/h3>

In the Bale mountains National park

In the morning drive towards Sanete Plateau. While crossing a lush green forest, you will see the Semien Wolves, endemic mammals. Also you will walk slightly down and across a moorland landscape dotted with white and yellow cushions of flowers, colorful lichen covered rocks and sparse Giant Lobelias. You will see many water birds in the small lakes.<\/p>\n

Day 12 <\/h3>

Drive to Awassa

In the morning, after breakfast, we drive to Awassa. Awassa is a bustling Ethiopian town in the heart of the Great Rift Valley.<\/p>\n

Day 13 <\/h3>

Drive back to Addis and Departure
